PageWarden

FAQ

Quick answers to common questions about PageWarden.

What does PageWarden monitor?

Seven things: website uptime, SSL certificate validity and expiry, domain registration expiry, page keywords, TCP ports, DNS records, and ping (network reachability). See How checks work.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The Free plan needs no card and has no trial clock. It stays free for as long as you like, covering up to three monitors. See Compare plans.

How fast are checks?

Check intervals depend on your plan: down to 60 seconds on Starter and Pro, 5 minutes on Hobby, and 30 minutes on Free. See How often checks run.

Will I get woken up by false alarms?

PageWarden confirms a failure from several regions before it records a down and alerts you, so a brief network blip does not become a false page. See Multi-region confirmation.

Why does a status only turn green when a site is truly up?

Green is reserved for a genuine, confirmed up state, so you can trust it at a glance. PageWarden does not use green for anything else.

What alert channels can I use?

Email on every plan, plus Webhook, Discord, Slack, and Telegram on paid plans. Every channel has a send-test button. See Alert channels.

Can different sites alert different places?

Yes. You can route each monitor to whichever channels you want, or apply a channel to every monitor at once. See Routing alerts.

How long is my history kept?

From 14 days on Free up to 90 days on Pro. See Compare plans.

How does the 3-day trial work?

Choosing a paid plan starts a 3-day trial of that plan. Your card is collected but not charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then. Free needs no card and has no trial. See How trials work.

How do I cancel?

Open billing and cancel. Your account returns to Free at the end of the period. Cancelling during a trial means no charge at all.

My site is up but shows Down. Why?

Usually a bot-protection service or firewall is blocking automated checks, or you are pinging a host that does not answer ping. See My site shows Down but it is up.
