Troubleshooting
My address was rejected
Why some addresses cannot be monitored.
If PageWarden would not accept an address you tried to add, it is almost always because the address points somewhere private rather than to the public internet.
Private and internal addresses
For safety, PageWarden only monitors things that are reachable on the public
internet. Addresses that point to a private or internal network, such as
localhost, 127.0.0.1, or an internal IP range on your own network, are declined.
What to do: use the public address that your visitors use. If a service is only available inside a private network, it cannot be reached by an outside monitoring service.
Typos and missing prefixes
- Include the full address, with
https://for websites. - Check for spaces or missing letters in the domain.
Still rejected?
If you believe an address should be accepted and it is not, email [email protected] with the exact address and we will look into it.
