SMS alerts

Get incident alerts as a text message, with verified opt-in.

Receive PageWarden incident alerts as a text message to your own mobile phone. SMS is a transactional channel: it only carries alerts about the websites you monitor, never marketing.

Available on: the Pro plan.

SMS is off by default. You add it yourself, from inside your signed-in account, using a double opt-in:

  1. Sign in to your PageWarden dashboard at app.getpagewarden.com.
  2. Go to Alerts in the sidebar and select Add channel.
  3. Choose SMS and enter your own mobile number.
  4. PageWarden texts a 6-digit verification code to that number.
  5. Enter the code to confirm you own the number and consent to receive alerts.

Only after this verified opt-in does PageWarden send you any SMS, and only about your own monitors. You are opting in for yourself. PageWarden never adds, uploads, buys, rents, or shares phone numbers, and never texts a number on someone else's behalf.

At the number-entry step you'll see the consent notice:

By entering your number and verifying the code, you agree to receive automated SMS alerts about your own monitors (site down, recovery, and SSL expiry), plus a one-time verification code. Message frequency depends on your monitors. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.

Message frequency, rates, and opting out

  • Frequency: event-driven. You receive a text when one of your monitors goes down, recovers, or has an SSL certificate nearing expiry, plus the one-time verification code at sign-up. There are no scheduled or promotional messages.
  • Rates: message and data rates may apply, per your carrier.
  • Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time. Reply HELP for help.
  • You can also remove the SMS channel anytime from Alerts (the channel's menu → Delete).

Example messages you might receive:

  • PageWarden: example.com returned 504. First failure 14:22 UTC. Reply STOP to opt out.
  • PageWarden: example.com recovered. Down 6m (14:22–14:28 UTC). Reply STOP to opt out.
  • PageWarden: SSL cert for example.com expires in 7 days. Reply STOP to opt out.

Privacy

Phone numbers are used only to deliver alerts you asked for. They are never sold or shared with third parties, and are not used for marketing. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Send a test

Once the number is verified, open the channel's menu and choose Send test to confirm a message arrives, then route it to the monitors you want it to cover.
